Lee Bailes is an avid film fan. Rather than bore everyone he knew with his unique brand of film geekery he set up his own film fan site, which soon became a popular news and review site called the Rumour Machine (www.rumourmachine.com). He initially launched the site as a vehicle to practice web design and share his geeky love of film gossip after contributing to UNRATED MAGAZINE (www.unrated.co.uk) and the BAD MOVIE WEBSITE (http://www.badmovies.org/) amongst others, under various pseudonyms. He now dishes out filmmaking gossip, assassinates films on a weekly basis (to please his 30,000 regular readers), ekes out a living designing corporate e-learning (to brainwash countless subservient wage-slaves), and somehow still finds the time to kick off his own projects.

A man of many faces, Lee is also a screenwriter and independent filmmaker living in Brighton, UK. He was greatly inspired by his intern work with an independent production company and exposure to the RAINDANCE philosophy, as well as by working with Christopher A. Broadstone and Director of Photography Schwarz Nipfargen on HUMAN NO MORE. Originally discovering the madness of Chris and Schwarz whilst surfing the net for films to review, he penultimately pestered Broadstone to part with a few copies of his films and ultimately persuaded the fledgling director to reveal them to the world. They have corresponded ever since –– even after working all too closely on the sweltering, cockroach-ridden basement set of HUMAN NO MORE! Since then Lee has been dismayed by the growing cult of Broadstone and wishes he had not created this CAB-monster, whose splintered mind is fragmenting even further into more debase personalities. Although truly brain numbing, Lee’s time with Chris in L.A. was nonetheless instructive. He picked up many new skills, even some that are actually legal: such as how to be a human sandbag, how to polish a lens (of the camera, you libidinous freaks!), and how to ignore the constant Brit-bashing humour on a US film set.

Quite proudly (and rightfully so), Lee has written 12 short features and 3 feature films to date, is currently in post-production on his first short film, BE CAREFUL, and in preproduction on his second film, SEPULTURE, as well as trying to raise financing for his first feature and publish his short stories. You can see him playing a vicious tramp in THE TRAMPS and cannot see him in LEFT 4 DEAD, as his scenes were quite literally “left for dead” on the cutting room floor of that shockingly violent UK Kung Fu film –– apparently he was just too damn ginger.

You can contact Lee Bailes via the Rumour Machine website (to send him cash, check, or credit cards to make films), or via his Eibon Films website (www.eibonfilms.co.uk).
